Medical Assistant(s) - PRN Opportunities.  LexMedical, Inc. is seeking PRN Medical Assistant(s) to fill-in for absent staff members at various physician practices within our network.  Applicants should have the availability to work some day shifts on Mondays through Fridays and some availability to work on Saturdays and Sundays.  Routine business hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.

Our Medical Assistant(s) will be responsible for providing clinical assistance to patients by assisting them to exam rooms and providing patient education, and to Providers by assisting them with procedures and performing laboratory tests.  Primary position duties focus on patient care activities inclusive of:  escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, phlebotomy, medication administration, patient education, triage, assisting Providers with procedures, etc.  

Minimum requirements include:  current LPN license or graduation from a 1-year Diploma Program or 2-year Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting.  Preferred requirements include:  current certification as a Medical Assistant through the AAMA, and one to two years of previous Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice or health care setting.

Physical Therapist - Part-time Position 03/04/2011

Description:

Physical Therapist.  Rehabilitation Services.  Part-time Position.  Around 6 to 8 (6 to 8) hours per week.  Incumbent will work a 3 to 4 hour shift on Saturdays and Sundays.  Work schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  Additional PRN hours may be available to assist with providing relief coverage.  Our Therapist will be providing service to an in-patient population and will be responsible for conducting evaluations and treatments. 

The Licensed Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluation and/or treatment of any person when so ordered by a Physician, Dentist or Podiatrist.  Treatment is provided through the employment of physical means such as therapeutic exercise, heat, water, electricity, massage, ultrasound and the use of rehabilitative procedures and devices.  A Licensed Physical Therapist is responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching physical therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.

Minimum qualifications include:  graduate of an accredited curriculum in Physical Therapy, B.S. or M.A. (accreditation is granted by AMA Subcommittee on Professional Education and APTA).  Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state of North Carolina with current licensure.  CPR certification (every 2 years).

The Administrative Supervisor is accountable for coordination of patient care, operational procedures, and addressing hospital concerns when Administrations and Directors are off site.

Minimum qualifications include:  graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current North Carolina Registered Nurse license.  Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.  Applicants should have a minimum of three to five years of acute care hospital nursing with management experience required.  Additional experience and educational preparation in administrative nursing techniques is desirable.  Certification in other specialties or areas is encouraged (ACLS, PALS, BTLS, CEN, CCRN).  Additionally, Administrative Supervisors must be able to work effectively with all disciplines possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy.

Clinical Documentation Specialist.  Medical Records Department.  Full-time Position.  Routine work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.  Applicants, however, should have the flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours if business needs necessitate.

Our Clinical Documentation Specialist will facilitate improvement in the overall quality, completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation.  She/he will obtain appropriate clinical documentation prior to the patients' discharge (concurrent review) through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, Case Management staff, other patient caregivers and Medical Records coding staff to ensure that our clinical documentation reflects the severity of the illness and the level of service rendered to patients.  Additionally, our Clinical Documentation Specialist will ensure that documentation is complete and accurate to obtain appropriate reimbursement.  She/he will educate all members of the patient care team on documentation guidelines on an ongoing basis to capture best practice indicators to support CMS and Joint Commission requirements.

Minimum requirements include:  Applicants should possess one of the following degrees:  Associate of Science Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Administration.  Nursing graduates must have a current NC Registered Nurse license, and Health Information Technology graduates should have their requisite credentials (RHIT, RHIA or CCS).  Applicants should have a minimum of three to five years of clinical experience.  Additionally, applicants should have a working knowledge of utilization/case management and of CPT, ICD-9-CM classification system/coding guidelines.  Knowledge of DRG and APC reimbursement systems is also required.
