Description:
The Childbirth education class is a six week series taught by the obstetrical nursing staff to prepare expectant parents for the birthing process. The 6th class scheduled for February 9, is CPR for Infant and Child, and is optional. The CPR class is open to parents, grandparents, or other family members who may be caring for the child. Diabetes Self Management

Description:
Lexington Medical Center's ADA-recognized Diabetes Self-Management Education Program is designed to help the diabetes client gain a better understanding of diabetes, its effect on the body and the importance of self-care. The five-hour initial class discusses: What diabetes is, healthy eating, exercise, medications, monitoring blood glucose, complications, living with diabetes and behavioral goals. A doctor's order is required to participate in the ADA-recognized program. It is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most insurance plans. (Call your insurance company to find out your covered status.) Follow-up classes are held monthly. One-on-one appointments are available upon request.
